The Stakeholders Foundation

The Stakeholders Foundation was founded in 2008 by several Capital Region Gen Xers and will provide a vital source of Next Generation grants and financial support to The Stakeholders, Inc. a non-profit corporation whose mission is to cultivate an informed and active creative class dedicated to building diverse and sustainable communities throughout New York’s Capital Region. We seek to retain and attract residents, workers and visitors and foster regional pride by connecting individuals with area resources and providing enrichment through arts & culture, civic engagement, adaptive reuse projects and charitable giving.

For 2009, The Stakeholders Foundation has decided to make grants for sustainable communities initiatives.  The strength of our community depends upon participation by all residents in the Capital Region’s economic, social, political and cultural arenas. Therefore, The Stakeholders Foundation seeks to advance the ideals of a welcoming environment, open access and civic engagement—with all of its privileges and responsibilities—in every area of community life.  The Capital Region aspires to be a clean, green, healthy and sustainable community. A healthy environment is good for the quality of life in our community and it is good for business.

On behalf of the member programs of the Food Pantries of the Capital District and, most importantly, on behalf of those whom they serve, thank you for your recent gift during our request for donations in response to then-President-Elect Barack Obama’s call for a National Day of Service. Your donation will be used to support the Infant Needs Project, which strives to ensure that every baby in our neighborhoods has enough to eat and an adequate supply of clean diapers.
